Detailed Instructions (English)
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for permanently deleting your Vitatrellis account and all associated data. Account deletion is available in both the web application and mobile apps (iOS and Android).
â GDPR Compliance: This process fulfills your "Right to Erasure" under GDPR Article 17. All your personal data will be permanently deleted from our systems.
Before You Delete Your Account
Important Requirements
â ïž You must leave all households before deleting your account.
This requirement ensures:
- Household data integrity is maintained
- Other household members are not affected
- Proper transition of household ownership if you're the last member
What Will Be Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Your email address, name, and profile information
- All personal tasks, shopping lists, and recipes
- Your household memberships
- Location data and task locations
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device tokens
- Notification preferences
- Social login connections (Google, Apple, Facebook)
- All app settings and preferences
Data Deletion Timeline
- Immediate: Account access is revoked immediately
- Within 24 hours: All personal data is deleted from active databases
- Within 30 days: Data is removed from backup systems
Option 1: Delete Account via Web Application
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Log in to the Vitatrellis web application
- Visit the Vitatrellis webapp at your organization's URL
- Sign in with your email and password, or use social login
- Navigate to Settings
- Click on your profile icon or name in the top navigation bar
- Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu
- Leave all households
- In the Settings page, look for the "Households" section
- For each household you're a member of, click "Leave Household"
- Confirm each action when prompted
- Note: If you're the only member of a household, leaving it will permanently delete that household and all its shared data
- Delete your account
- Scroll down to the "Account Management" or "Danger Zone" section
- Click the red "Delete Account" button
- Confirm deletion
- Read the warning message carefully
- Type your password or confirmation text if prompted
- Click "Confirm Delete Account"
- Account deleted
- You will be logged out immediately
- You should receive a confirmation email
- Your data will be permanently deleted
Option 2: Delete Account via Mobile App
Step-by-Step Instructions (iOS & Android)
- Open the Vitatrellis mobile app
- Launch the app on your iOS or Android device
- Sign in if you're not already logged in
- Navigate to Profile
- Tap the "Profile" tab at the bottom of the screen
- Or tap your profile icon in the top navigation
- Leave all households
- In the Profile screen, find the "Households" section
- Tap on each household you're a member of
- Select "Leave Household" and confirm
- Note: The app will prevent account deletion if you're still in any household
- Access Account Settings
- In the Profile screen, scroll down to "Account Settings"
- Tap "Account Management" or "Delete Account"
- Initiate account deletion
- Tap the red "Delete Account" button
- Read the warning message about data loss
- Confirm deletion
- Enter your password if prompted
- Tap "Confirm" or "Delete My Account"
- Account deleted
- The app will log you out immediately
- You'll receive a confirmation email
- Your data will be permanently deleted
Social Login Revocation (Optional but Recommended)
If you signed in using a social login provider, you may also want to revoke Vitatrellis's access to your social account. This is optional but recommended for complete data disconnection.
Revoke Google Sign-In Access
- Go to your Google Account Permissions page
- Find "Vitatrellis" in the list of connected apps
- Click on it and select "Remove Access"
- Confirm the removal
Revoke Sign in with Apple Access
- On iPhone or iPad:
- Go to Settings â [Your Name] â Password & Security
- Tap "Apps Using Apple ID"
- Find "Vitatrellis" and tap it
- Tap "Stop Using Apple ID"
- On Mac:
- Go to System Settings â Apple ID â Password & Security
- Click "Apps Using Apple ID"
- Find "Vitatrellis" and click "Stop Using Apple ID"
Revoke Facebook Login Access
- Go to Facebook Settings â Apps and Websites
- Find "Vitatrellis" in the list of active apps
- Click "Remove" or "View and Edit"
- Select "Remove App" and confirm
Note: Revoking social login access only prevents future logins via that provider. It does not delete your Vitatrellis account. You must follow the account deletion steps above to delete your data.
Alternative: Request Deletion via Email
If you're unable to access the app or webapp, you can request account deletion by contacting us:

Subject: Account Deletion Request
Include:
- Your registered email address
- Your full name
- Confirmation that you want to permanently delete your account
- Any social login providers you used (Google, Apple, Facebook)
We will process your request within 30 days and send you a confirmation email once your account has been deleted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I recover my account after deletion?
No. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
Why do I need to leave households first?
This requirement protects shared household data and ensures other members aren't affected. If you're the last member of a household, leaving it will delete the entire household.
What happens to shared household data?
Only your personal data is deleted. Shared household data (tasks, shopping lists, recipes) that you created will remain visible to other household members, but your authorship will be anonymized.
Will my subscription be canceled?
Yes, deleting your account automatically cancels any active subscriptions. However, you may need to manually cancel through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) to stop future billing.
What about my data in backups?
Backup data is automatically deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Can I export my data before deletion?
Yes! Use the "Export Data" feature in the app settings to download your data in JSON format before deleting your account.
Data Deletion for Specific Platforms
Facebook Platform Policy Compliance
This data deletion page fulfills the requirements of the Facebook Platform Policy for apps that use Facebook Login. Users can delete their Vitatrellis account and associated data at any time following the instructions above.
Apple App Store Requirement
In compliance with Apple App Store guidelines, Vitatrellis provides in-app account deletion functionality. Users can delete their accounts directly from the iOS app without contacting support.
